03. Elendil. Part 3 The Northern Crown

"The ships of Elendil were taken to Lindon, where the Elven ruler Gil-galad gave him aid; later Elendil went up the river Lun and founded behind the Ered Luin the Northern Kingdom, one of the two kingdoms in exile; his people settled in Eriador on the banks of the Rivers Lun and Baranduin. The main city of the Northern Kingdom became Annuminas on the shores of Lake Nenuial; the numenoreans also settled in Fornost in the northern hills, in Kardolan, in the hills of Rudaur, and also erected towers on Emin Beraid (it is also said that the towers of Emin Beraid were not built by the numenoreans, but Gil-galad for his friend Elendil) and on The Hill of Amon Sul. Elendil became supreme king and settled in Annuminas; the southern kingdom was ruled by his sons. In Elendil's possession were three of the seven Palantir brought from the island (and two each received Isildur and Anarion): the stones were originally given to Amandil, Elendil's father, by the elves and were integral property of his heirs. These palantiras Elendil placed in the towers on Emin Beraid, on Amon Sul, and on Anniveras."
