"The Tomb of Elendil was located on the top of the hill of worship, Amon Anwar, in the Whispering Forest, and was a low mound, covered with white alfirine flowers: in the grass in front of it lay a black stone with three marks carved on it: Lambe, Ando, Lambe. He used these marks as a personal mark and inscription on seals. Isildur, along with Meneldil and a few companions, laid out a path to the hill, built a stone ladder, leveled the platform at the top, erected a mound in which Isildur placed the chest brought with him. This place was kept secret: only the king and those whom he brought with him could enter the stairs. Here the Kings brought the heir of age, told him about the creation of the temple and consecrated the affairs of the kingdom. At the Tomb of Elendil were sworn Kirion, governor of Gondor, and Eorl the young, king of the Rohirrim."
